Tired of fighting your steering? Tired of the constant swaying back and forth? We have the fix for you! Introducing our 95-00 (Old Body Style ONLY) Steering Shafts. Eliminate that worn out rag joint with a U-joint. Simply unbolt your lower steering shaft and put this one in its place for an all new driving experience.

The Intermediate Steering Shaft is the piece that slips into the lower unit. Usually these are not damaged, but can become worn. Can be selected to add in the drop down menu.

NOTE - Black Shafts are a Black Oxide Coating for a rust preventative. It is more of a flat black.

***Will NOT fit Dorman aftermarket intermediate half*** (Check options on drop down menu to get intermediate shaft if needed!!!!)

Includes - 1 1995-00 (Old Body Style ONLY) Steering Shaft

Great Solution for Sloppy Steering on 97 K1500 Sierra

Posted by Nabor Alvarez on Oct 8th 2024

Great Solution for Sloppy Steering on 97 K1500 Sierra, when I first bought the truck steering was horrible, I would pass a small bump and the truck would jolt like no other, now with the new steering shaft in place, I am able to cruise like no other. I'm glad this part helped. Also Cunningham Machine is very kind, I called to ensure I got the right part and I got just that. Here's a helpful video link for install: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVtzw2vb9ts

    Big Improvement!

Posted by Shayne Voris on Oct 4th 2024

I did the jeep shaft on my S10 Blazer and it was the single biggest improvement. Same result with this Cunningham shaft on my '99 Suburban K1500. OE rag joint with 250k was shot. Took 15 min to swap them out, seemed easier than it should have been. (granted I just had the old one off for the new steering box) Only driven a little, but I'm very pleased. Now once I get the slop out of my NEW steering box, my steering will be pretty much perfect.

Haven't installed it yet but it seems we'll built. As soon as I buy the upper half I'll install and give a full review.

It took about 10 minutes and it slipped right on and made a world of difference in my steering of my 1997 suburban. Thank you.

    Lower Steering Shaft

Posted by Jason Geter on Aug 28th 2024

Over the weekend I installed a lower steering shaft on my 99 Tahoe and the install was very easy. Took less than 30 minutes. Steering is now solid. No more play in the steering like before with the worn out rag joint. Thanks!
